Wouldn’t be nice if all those cool sidebar gadgets could be placed somewhere else other than… well… the sidebar. Good news, they can! Here’s how:
- Add the gadgets that you want to run to your Vista Sidebar (click the + sign at the top of the Sidebar to add gadgets).
- Drag the gadgets off the Sidebar onto your desktop.
- Right click in a clear section of the Sidebar, between gadgets, and select Close Sidebar.
The sidebar gadgets will continue to run. If you like these gadgets can be made transparent by right clicking them, selecting Opacity and then setting the percentage. Sidebar gadgets can also be brought to the foreground by using the key combination ‘Windows Logo Key + Spacebar’.
